DHA (or docosahexaenoic acid) is a polyunsaturated fatty acid similar to Omega 3 (PUFA-ω3) that offers an anti-inflammatory and stimulating function (1). Diets enriched with PUFA-ω3 significantly reduce symptoms of pruritus and atopy (2) and the reduction of diarrhoea caused by chronic enteropathies (3). Krill is particularly rich in PUFA-ω3 linked to phospholipids, easier to assimilate and more effective than those linked to triglycerides (4).
